Intro to Motion Graphics

Summer course through Pratt that covered the basics of AfterEffects.

The first project of this course involved using simple animations to make a pattern.

Next we combined our skills from the first project with music and animated the shapes to fit with music of our choice.

The third project is a Kinetic Type composition. This video is set to "Fly Me To The Moon" by Frank Sinatra. For copyright reasons, this video could not be posted to YouTube and can't be linked here. This video is available upon request

The next project involved using masks to create a collage. I decided to combine the type animation skills I learned in the previous assignment to complement my collage.

For this assignment we learned how to use Photoshop in conjunction with AfterEffects. After creating layers in Photoshop, we brought our composition into AfterEffects and created a parallax effect to give our photo more dimension.

For the 6th assignment, the challenge was to create a show ident for either a real or fictional show. I chose to create an ident for the on-campus television show I produce called "Game Over". This ident was used as a promotional item during the 27th season of the show.

The next assignment for this course involved using 3D space and typography to make the type look integrated into a scene. At my school, drone footage is very popular so, I decided to use some of the footage to create an animated map of my school.

The final project for this course was to create an intro sequence using any combination of skills that we learned throughout the course. I decided to recreate the intro for the television show I produce. This intro sequence is used in the show starting in the 27th season.
