This course is a intermediate level design course focused on conceptual problem solving, and the integration of typography, image, layout, research, and presentation
The first project of this course involved choosing a social or environmental issue and graphically representing the issue. The issue I chose is water pollution.
The challenge with our second project was to create travel brochures for 3 cities of our choosing. For this assignment, we were required to graphically represent each city by only using black and white shapes. This project was based off on the work that George Tscherny created.
The challenge with this assignment was to use a mirror and a base image of our face and recreate to represent six different emotions. Within this assignment, I learned more about the structure of the face and how each feature moves when expressing different emotions.
For this assignment, we chose three adjectives and had to illustrate their meanings through type.
The final project in this course was to choose a font family and create a poster about its history. I chose the font Univers which was created by Adrian Frutiger in 1954.
